Feline And Strange Set To Release New Album ‘OUT’

Steam-punkers, ‘Feline and strange’ are set to release their upcoming album ‘OUT’.

This latest instalment from this weird and wonderful duo has a powerful and rich story behind its creation.

While the backstory of Feline and Strange is unique and thought provoking, with the pair being Extra Terrestrials from outer space, left on earth with music as the only way to survive and make a living, they found themselves being mirrored in current world events. “I was reading all the good news from home, and still couldn`t help harbouring dark feelings that this was too good to be true. And even before I came home, I was proven right when the first refugee homes burned, assaulted by fascists” explains Feline Lang, the leading voice in this operatic opus. She speaks about how Germany welcomed Syrian refugees, who’s houses were unsafe or lost due to the act of war.

While writing this album, she saw a call to aid and help people who were either far from home, or who had even lost their homes.

With an eclectic mix of Electro Wave Cabaret and other beautiful tricks, Feline and Strange are sure to be a band you just cant miss.

NejLas Is Here To Shake Things Up For The Better

Getting home from work or school, making your way through the house to finally enter your room. You may relax, or crash on the bed, you may get ready to go out, but one thing I can guarantee, is that your not making high quality Tech/Electro House music and running a charity! To be fair, its quite a specific mix, but Nejlas is here to prove it can be done, and done well.

With her upcoming EP set to release on 7th November, Nejlas is working hard to get out there, while helping good causes along the way. Nejlas, or otherwise known as Jen Sal is the founder of global charity ‘Global Health Conscious’, in which she has managed to raise $2.5 million worth of medical aid for refugee camps across the middle east.

She now has her focus mainly on releasing her 2-track EP ‘Nejlas EP’, with Wolfrage Recordings. The Lead track is titled ‘Washout’, which is out on Soundcloud now, so be sure to check it out:

Play air harmonica along to The NaveBlues

Norwegian 4 piece The NaveBlues are bringing a new and exciting edge to blues. Nave Pundik, lead singer and harmonica player has a harmonica tone like you’ve never heard, like hearing a harmonica put through Jimi Hendrix’s pedal board, its glorious.

Their self titled album really brings together the bands love of indie, soul and rock blending them with blues seamlessly. Track one ‘Sexy Kiss’ sounds like a mash up of early 00’s indie and traditional blues with searing harmonica over a guitar riff that could be taken straight from a Libertines album or early Kings of leon.

However this is most definitely blues.

‘In a quiet place’ strips things back to piano and male female vocals bouncing back off each other creating a warming bluesy wash, whilst ‘Early in the Morning’ and Led Zep cover ‘Thank you’ see the band show off their musical prowess. Blistering guitar solo’s, astounding harmonica breaks, everything that makes you say ‘niiiiiiice’ while you recline back in your chair and sip your whisky. Thats where The NaveBlues shine, they make give blues a new life, make it fresh!

Give the video for the lead track from their album ‘The NaveBlues’, ‘Possess You’ below.

Homerik… more like HOMEROCK!

It’s not every day a band writes about Ancient Egyption curses is it? Well prepare yourself for ‘Homerik’ and their debut self titled album.

The New York trio; Ken Candelas (The Mad Composer), Andrew Petriske (The Daemon), and Obed Gonzalez (The Gatherer) have spent the last three years bringing together their love of video game, film music and dark mythology with their love of bone shattering metal, to push the genre to a new dimension…. And though a strange mix, you know what? Homerik have pulled together one of the most ambitious and most creative albums you are likely to hear this year!

The lead track A Song of the Night Part 1 (A full 7 minutes 15 seconds of melodic metal creativity) tells you everything you need to know about the band. It leads you in to a false sense of security, which builds through 3 minutes of spooky yet etherial female vocals and orchestral music, curtesy of Carla Candelas & Nilsa Astacio. Just as you think you’ve settled into the song it blasts you into a tribal/ metal/ medieval mishmash.

My personal highlight of the album The Ire of Green brings together Irish style folk with fiddle and tin whistle mixed effortlessly with sharp, stabbing guitar chords, reminiscent of a heavier, darker Gogol Bordello.

Truly some of the most creative music you will ever hear, definitely worth your time. Think, System of a Down have gone back in time, stollen some ancient Egyptian scrolls and to the depths of hell – travelled around the world and now are writing songs about what they’ve seen.

A Song of the Night Part 1 is available on Spotify now https://open.spotify.com/artist/1Ry0Y2JiVXjpidTHDpYVQx.
You can Stream and Download the rest of their self titled album when released on Halloween.

Forget Sheffield, Italy’s Answer To Arctic Monkeys Can Be Found In Indie Band ‘Five o Five’!

When you think of the worlds most famous and current Indie-Rock bands, Arctic Monkeys, White Stripes and The Libertines are just some of the names that come to mind, but a new batch of 18 year old musicians have decided to put their stamp on things.

Five o Five, or also known as Piero (guitar/lead vocals), Andrea (drums), Riccardo (bass) and Alessandro (keyboards), are debuting with their first studio album ‘@Y&!‘, and with first single ‘Where They Bring Sophie’.

Five o Five’s beginnings originate through Piero and Andrea meeting at school when they were just 14, in a P.E.(Physical Education). This we be where they would have the idea to start creating music together, soon they would gain a bass player, Riccordo (who bought his first bass from his brother for 15 euro’s). After this, they would soon end up a four-piece, having keyboard player, Alessandro joining them on their journey.

Now a fully fledged band, with songs and a exhilarating live set, they have supported and played with acts like Pop_X, I Camillas and Rezophonic, Five o Five are now taking flight on their own and have released a brand new single and debut album, which is a worthy entry into the world of Indie-Rock.

Hailing from Sicily, self-styled dandy/gypsy hybrid Johann has developed a persona that brings to mind troubadours such as Sufjan Stevens, whilst also evoking thoughts of the pixie-ish faux naivety of early David Bowie and Syd Barrett. Mixed in with the freak Wurlitzer sound of harpsichords, Latin rhythms and, yes, flugelhorns, is the ever-present Johann, delivering his polemics in a style somewhere between and beyond Shakespeare and Adam Ant.
