‘Father Christmas’ by Jon McDevitt

‘Father Christmas’ is the unique and original product of musician Jon McDevitt who is looking to provide something a little left-field in the Christmas songs category.

Rather than the usual drivel that we hear every December, along with the few festive gems, Jon’s ‘Father Christmas’ presents a new perspective which ponders upon the importance of good ol’ St. Nick – posing the question, would it really be Christmas without him?

Jon’s Christmas sing-along avoids the common approaches to the genre with thoughtful lyrics from co-writer Dominic Hudson and an infectious folk-rock style melody that stands out from the crowd.

Blending influences from the likes of The Smiths and Dexys Midnight Runners, ‘Father Christmas’ is a highly listenable Christmas anthem with more to it than meets the eye; there is a sense of meaningfulness to Jon’s track that is lost on many of the classic festive tunes. Certainly one to look out for this Christmas period!
